I find it interesting finding out how people got started motorcycling so I thought I'd share my story.
About 10 years ago, I got this crazy idea that I wanted to get my husband a motorcycle for his 50th birthday. We had wanted to get into riding but felt it would be the appropriate parental thing to do to wait until our son was older and he was going to be a senior in high school at that time. I approached the topic with my brother-in-law and he thought it was a great idea but thought I better make sure my husband could handle a bike (medical issues with his legs may make it difficult). Fast forward...my husband took the class, did AWESOME and we ended up getting a 2011 Vivid black Harley Davidson Ultra Limited. Sweeeet bike!! We rode on it 2 up for about 3 months when I got another crazy idea. I should probably know how to operate a motorcycle, ya know... in case of an emergency.
I took the class through Harley Davidson and fell in love with riding!! Needless to say, riding 2 up on my husbands bike became history and I purchased my own bike...a 2011 Merlot and Vivid black Heritage Classic. A perfect bike for me to continue to refine my riding skills, which we did by taking many day rides and some longer rides throughout Michigan.

In the mean time, my brother-in-law planted a seed with our son that they would go on a guys trip out west for his graduation present. Well, our son needed a bike to do that and have the time to get some riding under his belt. He ended up getting a used 2004 Artic White Road King Classic. We now had 3 motorcycles in the family!!!
By 2013, we were so hooked on riding, we really wanted to go on longer rides out of state. My husband began planning a trip south so we could ride The Tail of the Dragon. My brother-in-law planted another seed (you'll find that my brother-in-law plants A LOT of seeds!!) He suggested that I might be more comfortable on longer rides on a bike that had fairings. Soooo...I traded my Heritage in and got a really beautiful 2013 Ember Red Sunglow Street Glide. I put chrome everywhere!!

(My son and I getting ready to leave on our first long, out of state trip...to experience the The Tail of the Dragon!)
We went on many awesome trips; Hocking Hills, Gettysburg, Maine, just to name a few and all of which have great stories I may get into at a later time. So, here I am loving my Street Glide and then...my brother-in law planted another seed..."ya know, I saw a really nice Road Glide CVO and CVO's will hold their trade in value MUCH better than a bike you add your own chrome to..."
ugh...ok...I'll look.
and I bought...

My 2016 Road Glide CVO!! I wasn't a lover of the Road Glide front fairing until the re-design on the 2016 model and this paint job was so awesome, I couldn't pass it up!!
So that's how I got started with motorcycling. I love it!!
